Flower lovers! Join this 2-hour floral workshop where you will layer acrylics and oil pastels into vibrant, expressive and colourful mini masterpieces. You will not only have fun and indulge your creativity, but will also explore intuitive mark making.  No experience is needed- just a desire to explore, permission to play and a willingness to enjoy the creative process.  All materials are provided and you will go home with a set of several tiny but mighty masterpieces!

Create your own vibrant mixed‑media heart or flower! In this hands-on, 2-hour workshop, you’ll experiment with Gelli-plate printing to make colourful, textured collage papers. You will then use your handmade papers to build a layered mixed‑media artwork perfect for upcoming Mother's Day (or for any occasion)!! If you have old pieces of music or writing that is meaningful to you, be sure to bring it with you to personalize your artwork.

With years of teaching both needle felting and wet felting wool techniques to students, Carolyn loves to lead engaging classes to inspire students to express their own voices in art. In this 2-hour workshop, you will needle felt 2-3 small pieces of 2-dimensional art (maximum 6" x 6" in size) on subjects of your own choosing! Finished pieces will be affixed to sanded cedar blocks for a unique display approach. All felting supplies and cedar blocks are included. Please note that cedar pieces are unfinished and you may stain them at home if you want a different colour finish.

Discover the romantic tradition of 18th‑century “lover’s eyes” by painting your own tiny eye portrait in oil paint. In this beginner‑friendly, 2.5‑hour workshop for adults, you’ll work on miniature panels, learning simple steps for drawing and painting an eye in tone and colour. All materials are provided. Bring a photo of a loved one’s eye (or your own), or choose from curated references, and leave with a small, jewel‑like painting to treasure or gift.

Bored of doomscrolling on your phone? Make a tiny sketchbook your new playground!  This workshop will help you get started with exercises and tips on how to draw the world around you, or the world in your mind. You will receive a 4"x5.5" sketchbook, waterproof pen, and some coloured pencils that you can easily take with you wherever you go. Solidify travel memories, capture daily moments, doodle your way through meetings, and before you know it you'll have a one-of-a-kind book filled with random sketches of your life.  We will begin this 2 hour workshop at Neruda Arts, with the option of continuing on at Block 3 Brewing for a friendly Drink 'n Draw session, where you can put to use some of the new skills you've acquired.

In this 2-hour acrylic painting workshop, you will create mandalas on wooden rounds. In doing so, you will learn how to prepare and measure your mandala for symmetry, how to choose and mix colours, and will use your fine motor skills to carefully create your dots (many, many dots!). Additionally, you will learn multiple techniques for creating these dots - dots inside dots (layered dots), walking the dots (dots that get progressively smaller), and dragging dots (to create more like a tear-drop shape). Find your zen with this very mindful form of art making!

Step into a quiet, restorative space where art becomes a pathway to emotional processing and inner balance. In this 2-hour guided workshop, participants will explore neurographic art and intuitive doodling on watercolour paper, using flowing ink lines and watercolour washes. Through gentle instruction and reflective pauses, you’ll create organic forms that mirror the mind’s natural pattern-making, supporting integration between cognitive awareness and emotional (limbic) experience. No art experience is needed—only curiosity and openness. This practice is meditative rather than technical: repetitive line, colour blending, and mindful attention invite calm, reduce mental noise, and help surface and transform emotions in a safe, nonverbal way. The lines may be tiny, but the room to breathe enormous! You will leave with a finished artwork and a simple process you can return to for self-regulation and creative renewal

As a spectacular bonus workshop in our series, please join Canadian professional Miniaturist Briar Nielsen of Revive Minis as she pays a special visit to share her love and knowledge of the miniatures universe!. Briar was featured in TV's "Best in Miniature" season 2 and continues to wow the world with her designs as she works with commercial clients and continues to "imaginate".

In this 2 1/2 hour workshop, participants will - with Briar's guidance - create a miniature little library in 1:12 scale. Your library will stand less than 4" tall, and will even have a functioning door! Also included in this workshop are teeny blank books to fill your library, along with a glass cloche in which you can display your miniature masterpiece.
