You’ll then cut and shape your papers into unique butterflies, each with its own personality, and collage them onto a prepared, layered background.
You’ll leave with a finished mixed media piece full of colour and character!

From blank canvas to completed piece, you’ll get a full introduction to oil painting, covering everything you need to know to work with the medium confidently. You’ll learn how to set up your palette, understand the essential brushes and what each one does, and get comfortable with the consistency of oil paint. From there, you’ll dive into colour,
working with a classic limited palette to learn how to mix a wide range of tones, shades, and highlights from just a few foundational colours.
You’ll explore basic layering techniques, learning how to build depth and dimension in your painting the way oil painters have for centuries! By the end of the session, you will have created a small, finished painting entirely your own to take home. No experience needed...just show up ready to create!
